2017 Ritzee Resale


The Monclova Community Center will be hosting the fifth annual Ritzee Resale on Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th. Shoppers will find great bargains on gently used jewelry, purses, shoes, hats, scarves, gloves, and more!  This is a great opportunity to update and accent your spring accessories, as well as to find items for that special event. The sale is open to the public, and will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

ARE YOU A MHF Member?  You are invited to our Ritzee pre-sale “Sip & Shop”.  This members only benefit allows you to shop early on Thursday, March 23rd from 6:00PM-8:00PM.  While here you can enjoy complimentary mimosa’s and h’ordeurves!! This is also a perfect time to de-clutter your own closet by donating your women’s or men’s new or gently used accessories. Items can be dropped off at the Community Center during regular office hours (M-F 9:00am-4:00pm), or call us 419-861-1336 to make special arrangements.

HISTORY LECTURE SERIES! The Monclova Historical Foundation invites you to join us on Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00pm for our next History Lecture – The Battle of Fallen Timbers & the New Visitors Center featuring Dave Westrick.

Join us to hear Dave talk about the Battle of Fallen Timbers and the new visitor center that opened there last year. Historians rank the Battle of Fallen Timbers as one of the most important battles in U.S. history.

Dave is a retired Communications Consultant and Historical Researcher and was raised on a farm outside of Ottawa, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University. He worked as a reporter, media spokesman, ad agency copy writer and a communications director before starting his own media consulting business. Dave currently serves on the board of the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Commission and the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor. He resides in Maumee with his wife Nanci. He has two children and four grandchildren.

The lecture will take place at the Monclova Community Center (Ottawa Room) located at 8115 Monclova Road – just 3 miles West of St. Luke’s Hospital. Admission and parking are FREE. An elevator is located at the west entrance to the building. Hope to see you there!


Lunch Time Tea! Join us for some time with friends, great food, delicious teas, and relaxing atmosphere at Clara J’s Tea Room (219 W. Wayne Street, Maumee, OH) from 12:30pm-1:30pm on Thursday, April 6th.   Also, come hear our special guest, Bob Conley, talk a little about the Monclova history, and the Monclova Historical Foundation. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance at the Monclova Community Center (8115 Monclova Rd.) Cash, check, or credit accepted. Payments can be made over the phone. The Center is open M-Thurs. The Monclova Historical Foundation & Community Center is hosting a “Community Easter Egg Hunt” on Wednesday, April 12th. Kids 7 and under are welcome to participate in this fun “Egg”travaganza! Bring your own basket. Over 1000+ eggs will be hidden with candy, goodies, and a few other surprises! The event is FREE, but donations are appreciated. Join us from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM (rain or shine). The hunt starts at 5:40 PM sharp. Please Note: EGGS MAY CONTAIN SMALL PARTS, PRIZES OR CANDY THAT COULD BE A CHOKING HAZARD. Featuring: A Dance with Death – “A 1950’s Sock Hop Gone Sour!” presented by The Murder Mystery Co. Come dressed in your best 50’s outfit (this event is interactive), and enjoy Carrabba’s Italian Food (Gluten Free Choice Available). The Pre-show mixer is from 6:00-7:00 p.m.; Dinner & Show are from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tickets: $30 per person / $50 per couple. Cash, check, or credit accepted.
